Sup Homies
Hey there.
No comic this week, I'm afraid, but I do have a little christmas surprise that I was hoping would be finished yesterday in time for today. No dice though.
Hopefully it'll be up tonight for your amusement.

PvC 14: Jim and Luc 3
Jim's acting like a bit of a prick this week, I know. But it's only page 3, we ought to give him a chance to develop a bit :P
In other news, not been up to much, just work and chilling out (and nothing in between lol). Been watching Shameless. Up to series 5 now. Have to say, it's a great show, but I don't know how much of it I believe. It's become a bit of a cartoon show, with gangsters living next door and everyone's a scum bag of some sort.

PvC 12: Jim and Luc 1
When I started this webcomic thing, originally I was going to do just one-shots about games or whatever.
But I've had this idea for a longer comic rattling around in my head for about 6 months now. I'd always intended to do this seperately from PvC, but I don't really have the time to do two comics at once.
And I thought 'fuck it, no-one's reading anyway'.

Too Late
For the uninitiated among you, Modern Warfare 2 has a level-up system as part of it's online multiplayer. You level up by killing other players and performing objectives. Level ups unlock weapons, attachments, perks (very much like the Fallout perks but less imaginative) along with game types. The fact game types unlock means that most of the higher level players are actually out of your way to begin with (so the 'Gryphon' scenario rarely occurs) but of course the most popular game mode, Team Deathmatch, is unlocked at the start. So prepare to be mown down by missiles constantly.

Afternoon
Hey there, I've not done a comic for this week. Ive been incredibly busy with my new job at Game. (just a shop not in head office or anything). And I've been playing Dragon Age (and it's great).

Comic 9: 'Fury of the Sea Devils' Part 1
(as always, click for any semblance of legibility)
This week's comic got too big too fast, so I chopped it up into seperate parts. This is the first.
Whenever I mention Naga to my friends, we always argue about the pronounciation (it's NAH - GAH btw).
I'd just like to take the time to advertise my website; Chief Illustrator. This is where my portfolio is (and the art is slightly better in general :P)

Comic 8: Cold Reality
Sorry it's a bit late in the day. Been a bit busy today.
No colour either. I won't lie about that, I'm just lazy.
Also, I'd like to thank wow.com for showcasing my last comic on their weekly round up. This one probably won't make it because it's not WoW related (although I have a plan for a great one next week).

Player Versus Comic 7: Cold Reading
(As always, click to enlarge)
Hey there
Here's your weekly dose of stupid served straight from my harddrive to your monitor. I don't know what happened with the backgrounds halfway through.
Go figure.
Anyway, upcoming games that I'm looking forward to are Brutal Legend which looks pretty enjoyable (and by enjoyable I mean metal) and Dragon Age because Bioware have made enough games that I enjoyed that they get a free pass to sell me whatever. I'm not really sure what to expect from it, but even if I don't like it, they've totally earned the ability to sell me a couple of crap games.
Assasin's Creed 2 is also coming out soon but I fear it might get lost in the holiday shuffle. I can only play so many games at once. Makes me wonder why they bother to sell them all at this point in the year rather than just stagger them about a bit, especially as the summer typically has few releases (and in the one time of the year when all kids are off school and want to play video games, but go figure).

No Comic This Week
Title says it all.
I did start a couple but they were awful and I ran out of time for this week. But I'll be back next week with a totally rad comic. I promise.

Player Versus Comic 6: Out to Lunch
(as always click to enlarge)
I actually coloured it in this week! Although I drew it all in one day and might have rushed it just a tad.
I still think that I can do better in photoshop colour wise. I picked up some books (Bold Visions and Fantasy Workshop) on digital painting so I could get a little better at it. The books look amazing, with some spell binding art on the inside, although from what I've read so far, I still don't know how to make my brushes in Photoshop 'paint'. Lowering opacity seems to work, but there ought to be a better way.
Anyway, on to the comic.
For those of you not familiar with the game, Aion lets you get your character to set up a private store so you can sell your wares. Whilst your character is like this, you can't afk out of the game, so to avoid the considerable launch week queues, players just set up 'afk stores'.
Of course with everyone doing this, server queues start to get ridiculously long (on several nights at 9 hours long).

Comic 5: Batman + VideoGames = ???
This week's comic is inspired by Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Allow me to apologise for the lack of colour. I was kind of...busy.
The game itself does feel like this sometimes. It is illogical that Batman would have started this adventure equipped only with Batarangs (even if it's an infinite supply of said batarangs). I mean, what is that utility belt for any way?.
I didn't really enjoy the game itself that much. It's servicable, and treats the ip with respect, but I kept feeling like I'd played it all before. And better.

Player Versus Comic 4: Coffee Complex
I downloaded and finished Shadow Complex over the weekend from the XBLA network, and had a ball.
I really enjoyed the element of exploration and the excitement of each new secret item found. I also really liked the combat in this game, where the game itself is played on an x,y axis but sometimes enemies come out of the z axis and you have to aim INTO the screen to kill them. It was pretty interesting, and a lot of fun to do.
That said, the navigation of this secret complex is pretty unbelievable...
